We are a leading professional services provider in the wireless Information and Communications Technology market. We work across multiple domains with a diversity of customers to solve technology and related business problems. Commercial customers range from small start-up entrepreneurial companies through to multi-nationals and the public sector is representated by large government departments. Our expertise spans the commercial and defence domains and we are well known for delivering solutions in the SDR domain.


The company was established in 2003 with the aim of providing professional services support that maximises value for the customer and speeds project delivery. We have proved this capability by completing various engagements for our customers, including: business strategy development for a start-up: cost analysis for a large goverment department: enterprise architecture modeling for a large defence customer: system, software and hardware development for a large telecommunications company.

Paul Burns - Managing Director / Principle Consultant
Paul has more than 20 years of experience in the wireless communications industry and founded Simplexity in 2003. Formerly of NEC, Paul is the author of the best seller "SDR for 3G" published by Artech House. Paul is an innovator, futurist and technology business developer. He is an internationally recognized SDR expert, widely published, has major SDR projects to his credit and has presented at conferences and seminars around the world on the topic of SDR. Prior to starting Simplexity Paul gained 16 years of communications engineering experience with a range of large and small companies working on various development projects. Paul has been at the forefront of worldwide SDR developments since 1999 where he played a pivotal role with a Melbourne based startup company where he led the development of their SDR cellular mobile Base Transceiver Station (BTS). His team completed the world's first dual air-interface GSM and CDMA software defined BTS in 2001. His final industry position before founding Simplexity was with NEC in the mobile 3G department where he lead the layer 1 development of NEC's first tri-mode GSM/GPRS/WCDMA terminal, this product was marketed by Hutchinson (the company 3) and used on its 3G mobile network in Europe and Australia. As a result of his contribution to the field of SDR, Paul was invited by the Australian National University (ANU) to undertake advanced research into the technology. Paul is a graduate of the University of South Australia and completed his Electronics Engineering degree in 1986.
